Bad Weather

The weather is going to be bad for the entire week. Let’s hope it gets better for the weekend.

Nikon 24mm f/2.8 and Wireless Shutter Trigger

New to my Nikon collection is the Nikon 24mm f/2.8. It will be used mainly for travelling due to its light weight. It is similar to the 50mm f/1.4 in size.

Also new to the collection is the wireless shutter trigger.

The Port

We had a great lunch @ The Port on the weekend which is specialised in Seafood . The place has a beautiful view of the port. It was sunny and calm, truly refreshing.

Once again I only had the 50mm f/1.4 lens with me.

Equipped with Nikon 50mm f/1.4

I am a fan of  prime lenses despite having a set of “Holy Trinity”.  Last weekend I decided to bring the 50mm f/1.4 only. While it is not a wide lens, it does give a nice ‘isolation' to the images (tighter angle of view). It is small (52 mm) and light weight (230g) which makes the camera less loaded at the front.

I hope to add more primes like the 24mm f/2.8 to my collection very soon.

April 13, 2009

Went out to try out Abrakebabra on the last day of Easter break. It was packed with people. We queued up patiently, looking at the colourful menu to decide what to order.

I wanted to enjoy my last day of holiday, so I decided not to carry the 24-70mm f/2.8, instead I used the 50mm f/1.4. The weight difference is about 700g and it made a lot of difference. I could take off the battery grip to reduce the weight further (~200g), but on this occasion I let it stay since I like the ‘feel’ of the  camera with the grip on.

Anyway, here is what we had. Chicken burger and Lamb Kebab.

We then enjoyed the rest of the day doing some shopping.
